I started running specifically for weight loss after having children. I completed the couch to 5k app and by then was totally addicted! Running made me feel free and would settle my mind, especially during difficult times.
I then wanted a goal to aim for to keep my training focused so I signed up for the 2016 Birmingham half marathon. I completed this but felt sheer exhaustion from mile 10 onwards! It wasn’t something I wanted to do again!!
Fast forward 2 years, and joining my local running club, I now had more experience running lots of other races from cross countries to 20 mile road races. Worcester half marathon was my running clubs main race of the year so I signed up! I knew I could run half marathon distance already but I thought a personal 12 week training plan would definitely give me the best chance to get a time of 1hr 45min that I so desperately wanted!
So I contacted Andie! I’d heard of the amazing Runwell plans before and had seen a friend of mine smash her marathon following her plan too. I told Andie exactly what my goal was and what time I was aiming for (1hr 45min). Being a busy mum with my husband working away, Andie wrote me a tailored plan that fitted around other races I had already planned and around being a busy parent too! This plan was easy to follow and Andie was always there to answer any questions or just to give me that bit of support that I needed.
Race day came and although I had followed my plan I still really doubted my ability to get the time I wanted. I ran the race feeling strong from start to finish and smashed my goal with a time of 1hr 44.50!! I was amazed I had done it! It really was all down to the amazing plan and the continued support along the way.
I really can’t recommend the Runwell plans enough. Any goal you have albeit big or small these plans will give you the best chance of achieving it. Once again thank you so much Andie!
